Intro to Investing: Learn the Basics, Risks, Principles of Growth, and More! with Better Invest

Class is a combination of three presentations. The first, "Why Invest in Stocks," will demonstrate why investing in stocks provides the best potential reward over time as shown by historical data. "Understanding the Jargon" explains basic financial terms that are critical for the investor to understand in order to choose wisely and manage risk. These presentations will also introduce the Stock Selection Guide, the Better Investing tool used by investment clubs to determine whether a company is a good, quality company that is trading at a reasonable price. The third takes you on a guided tour of the Value Line data sheet. Learn how to use it as a basic research source to find fundamental information on a company. Founded in 1951, Better Investing (BI) is a global non-profit investment education organization that provides support to help create successful lifetime investors. Our investment philosophy is based upon the sound investment principals promoted by Benjamin Graham and Warren Buffett. Class is taught by members of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of Better Investing, who have been successfully managing their own portfolios using the BI methods.
