Evaluating Mutual Funds and ETFs

If you have a deferred retirement account this class will help you choose the best Mutual Funds or ETFs for you. Presented in three parts, we'll start with basic terms used in mutual funds and ETFS, followed by an approach to screening for funds, what criteria to enter into a screener, and how to evaluate the results. Using Morningstar data sheets, we'll look at metrics for individual funds, and how to get the most from the information provided. Discuss the importance of diversification in selecting funds, with examples of diversified portfolios for various risk levels. The third part is an online demonstration using the Morningstar web site to search for appropriate choices. This class will help you make informed choices about fund selections, based on your objectives and risk tolerance. Taught by Ralph Futch and Lois Krause, longtime members and instructors with the Rocky Mountain Chapter of Better Investing. Attendee participation and questions are encouraged.
