Preserving Your Legacy: Create Your Own Ethical Will

Ethical wills have been used for hundreds of years to convey personal values, individual history, and aspirations for future generations. The process presents an opportunity to reflect on the deeper meaning of our life, affirm our relationships, and articulate our values. This workshop gets you started creating your own ethical will. You will learn how to structure your narrative, get prompts to stimulate your writing, and find out how you might incorporate photos and documents or tell your story with audio or video. You’ll leave with a workbook that includes examples and a guide to help you to complete your project. Deanne Kapnik and Sari Horovitz of The Narratives Studio have been working with people to tell their stories for over ten years. Many of the over 90 stories, in both short form documentary narrative and audio format, that they have helped craft are seen (and archived) at the Mizel Museum in Denver. They have given workshops locally and internationally.
