Package Deal--Happily & Healthily Homebound (Online)

As a psychologist, Maria Arapakis helped tens of thousands of people around the world take better charge of their mind and emotions so they could be more successful in reaching their goals. She has over 30 years of experience with all things Apple and has been training and consulting in her home studio. Because of Covid-19, Maria, like many, has been staying at home. She now offers this series of four special courses on Zoom to support others make use of technology and thrive while sheltering at home. Take sessions individually or sign up for all four for a special package price. While Maria works with Apple products, much of what she teaches can be adapted to other brands and platforms (like Window PCs and Samsung/Android phones and tablets).

Session 1: Thriving in the Age of Covid-19 and/or as You Age in Place

The first session in the Happily & Healthfully Homebound! series helps you to get in the frame of mind to take advantage of today’s consumer technologies so you can transform being homebound (even if you live alone) into an enjoyable, health-promoting adventure. Learn four simple steps that change self-defeating habits into self-serving ones. Explore mind management skills to help you keep things in perspective and sustain a positive attitude. While this session offers less of the how-tos of technology, it sets you up with easy-to-use, powerful, self-management strategies that prepare you to use new technology with optimism, courage and confidence.

Session 2: Personal & Relationship Empowerment

The second session in the Happily & Healthfully Homebound! series shows you how to stay better connected with friends, family, and colleagues despite any needed ”social distancing.” Discover highly effective yet little-used ways to improve your texting, emails, FaceTime visits (both audio and video), Zoom get-togethers, and yes, even old-fashioned phone calls. Learn a unique “super simple Siri self-management system” to keep you uber-organized, more productive, and able to effortlessly manage the many details and obligations of daily life.

Session 3: Endless Education & Entertainment

In the third session of Happily & Healthfully Homebound!, learn how to take better advantage of the vast selection of movies, shows, videos, music, games, classes, and lectures that can entertain, stimulate, and uplift you. “Streaming” and “the cloud” will be clearly explained. Find out which streaming services and devices are good for specific uses, and discover how to get the most from your favorite ways to stream. And, very importantly, learn how to manage the many choices you have (e.g., Netflix, Prime, YouTube, Hulu, podcasts, Kindle, EdX, Google U, Ted Talks, Reddit) so you can keep track of what you are watching, what you’ve already watched, and what you want to watch next or eventually.

Session 4: Life Enrichment

Technology can, if you let it, overwhelm you with stimulation and negativity. Yet it can also provide ways to slow down, quiet down, and “uni-task” as respite from a crazy-making world. The fourth session of Happily & Healthily Homebound! focuses on how technology can help you replace worry, pessimism, and boredom with inner peace and optimism. Learn to use apps on your devices to improve the quality of your life with music, beauty, drama, movement, stillness, mindfulness meditation, laughter, and more. Maria will share three “prescriptions for happiness” to help you get more of what you want with less angst and suffering and to create new blessings for yourself along the way!
