Microsoft Excel - Level 2 - Online Course
This intermediate Microsoft Excel course gives you essential skills to work effectively in Excel. Topics include: linking spreadsheets, manipulating multiple sheet tabs for viewing, calculating, grouping, creating custom conditional formatting rules using formulas, using Pivot Tables, using Excel as a database, defining range names, automatic subtotals, outlining, and using all commonly used functions. Learn also about IF, nested IFs, SUMIF, COUNTIF, VLOOKUP, the PMT function, one and two-input data tables related to PMT, Goal Seek, Date and Text functions, Advanced Filter with DSUM, DAVERAGE, DMIN, and DMAX, identifying and correcting formula errors, formatting a data series and chart axis, referencing external data sources, creating and using charting templates, continued work with and understanding Absolute and Relative cell references, advanced page setup and printing techniques, and receiving an introduction to Macros. Previous knowledge or experience: Understanding of Excel L1 course content.
Course requirements: a computer with Microsoft Excel (2013, 2016, 2019 or Office 365 version), an Internet connection, and a telephone to participate.
Prior to class:
- You will receive an email invitation containing a link to join the class from your instructor. You will also receive an Enotebook which you may download and print (printing is not required) and class files to download in advance. Your instructor will walk you through the process prior to class at no extra cost if you are new to online classes and would like assistance getting started. - The live class will be conducted through GoToMeeting. You are not required to own this software. When you open the link provided by your instructor, you will be prompted to download the app. It only takes a few minutes at most to begin. The instructor email will also contain a toll-free number for you to dial into for the conference call. An access code will be listed below the telephone number on the email invitation. The call will prompt you to enter the access code. Once in the virtual classroom, you will be able to view the instructor's screen and the instructor will be present to welcome you into the class.
