Fundraising in These Uncertain Times

A world pandemic, the stock market dives and dips, unemployment rises… It’s a scary time for nonprofits. Those of us in the not-for-profit sector are asking: What will be the impact on our mission and our fundraising, so needed for the services we provide? During this short Zoom call, nonprofit expert Lynn O’Connell will share ideas and concrete steps to take today and over the next several months to not only keep your fundraising going – but make it stronger. She’ll answer questions like:

  • How can I cultivate relations with people when I can’t meet them?
  • What should I do about my upcoming fundraising and other events? How can I keep my donors and volunteers engaged?
  • What creative ideas can I use for virtual events, donor acknowledgements, and solicitations?

We’ll also discuss the optimal role for board members in this crisis, and what they can do right away to help. Lynn O'Connell has worked in the nonprofit sector for 30 years. She holds a certificate in nonprofit management from Duke University as well as a Master's in philanthropy from Indiana University. She is editor of two publications for nonprofit professionals, Development Director's Letter and WealthEngine News.
