Know Thy Donor!: Next-Level Fundraising

Over 70 percent of all gifts to charities come from individuals. Developing relationships with donors is the key to raising funds. This workshop gives you practical tools to increase donor giving. Learn how to focus on your donor’s needs and interests so you can eliminate your inhibitions about asking for money. Interactive exercises will boost your confidence to help you get the gift and then keep your donors for a lifetime. Learn how to identify and acquire new donors, retain existing donors, and upgrade donors to higher levels of giving. Discuss the role of board members in fundraising. The course is designed for anyone who is interested in raising funds, but especially for nonprofit staff, volunteers, and board members. A 35-year resource development professional, Jim Gumpert spent most of his career working for national charities including the Arthritis Foundation, American Red Cross, and Boys & Girls Clubs of America. He is a frequent speaker at national conferences on topics ranging from annual campaigns, major and planned gifts, and recruiting and motivating board members.
