Brewing Kombucha

Kombucha is touted as a cure-all, cancer-fighting, super drink, but what exactly is it? And are all these claims about it true? This mysterious beverage has crowded the shelves of health food stores and gained much recognition. For those who want to dive deeper into the science, history, and home-brewing process of kombucha, this class is for you. We’ll be answering questions like: Is Kombucha a mushroom? What are its benefits? What is a SCOBY? And most important, how do I learn how to make my own so I can stop paying $4 a bottle?! In this hands-on class, sample kombucha, discover what this mystical wonder drink actually is, and learn how to brew your own elixir at home. Levi Noe is a Denver writer and educator. He ran a fermented foods business, Haiku Foods, with his wife and has been brewing his own kombucha at home for 10 years. He will bring a variety of brews for you to sample.
