Introduction to Origami
Taking a piece of paper and transforming it into a sculpture is enormously satisfying. The ancient Japanese art of paper folding is a fun and creative way to relax and doesn’t require any particular artistic ability. You can delight children with your paper animals and enhance gifts with an origami flower. While designs can be found in books and online, it can be tricky to translate the two-dimensional drawings into a three-dimensional object. Hands-on instruction makes getting started easier. Learn the basic folds and practice making some of the more popular sculptures to gain the confidence needed to continue folding on your own. Caitlin Berve learned how to fold origami to create a paper bouquet for her mom for Mother’s Day five years ago and has been hooked ever since.
