Basic Sewing Made Fun & Easy
Sewing can be both an enjoyable and practical hobby, and you can easily master the basics in a short time. Held in the instructor's fully equipped home studio/classroom in Broomfield, CO, this six-session course teaches you the most basic and essential sewing skills: machine set-up, pattern reading, fabric selection, layout and cutting, seams, buttonholes, and installing zippers. Class includes an outing to the fabric store to get assistance choosing your first fabrics. Complete four projects in class (a pillowcase, apron, zippered pillow cover, and PJ pants), and leave with the skills to tackle most any basic sewing project. Janet Schindele
has been teaching sewing since 1999 to students of all ages and backgrounds. Her passion for sewing only comes second to her passion for teaching students the confidence to make their own clothes, costumes, home décor, etc. Bring your own machine if you'd like, but the studio is fully stocked with machines, thread, pins, etc. for your use. Students must plan to purchase fabric during the second session, the cost of which varies depending on personal choice.
