Starting a Business: For Creative Professionals
Calling anyone with a creative spirit and entrepreneurial dreams! Perhaps you’re making what you love, but disappointed with your sales. Or you have a professional practice but aren’t drawing clients. Creative entrepreneurship finds the intersection between what you want to make or give and what the world wants to buy. It’s a messy journey that requires research, planning, and patience. In this seminar series, we’ll explore how to use your creative talents to run a profitable business. Learn to consider customer demand to create the product or service that people will pay for. Explore how to identify a market and niche for your work and optimally price your products or services. Explore how to create a business plan, apply for a loan, and avoid common legal and tax pitfalls. Emily Fata is the founder of Diagon, which provides business development consulting for cannabis companies. She started her first business when she was 13 and has been hooked to creative entrepreneurship ever since.
