Beautiful Block Printing (Online)

Block printing is one of the oldest types of printmaking, with roots in India, China, and Japan. While there are many variations, it is essentially using carved material covered in ink to transfer an image onto paper or fabric. You can make everything from trendy designs to simple patterns to layered illustrations. In class, draw your own design and hand carve it on easy-to-carve rubber blocks. Print first on paper and then on a cotton tote bag that you’ll be able to show off after class. Class includes all supplies and plenty of inspiration to your unique block printing journey. No experience necessary. Mitra Verma is a handicraft designer and artist who has worked with a variety of crafts and studied with different craftsmen in India. She is eager to share her love of art and the traditions of India. NOTE: This course will be offered via Zoom. Register now and then prior to class the instructor will send you the link to attend.
