Trash to Treasure: The Art of Mixed Media Altered Objects
Let your creativity go wild. Mixed media is an art form using a variety of techniques and materials, including paint, paper, glass, metal, stencils, modeling paste, and other materials, many of which you can find at home. In this fun, interactive workshop, you'll learn how to apply these techniques and materials to transform everyday objects into works of art. Learn how to properly prepare your surface, layer your object with paper, magazine pages, and even napkins. Use stencils and stamps to make your project uniquely yours. Finally, add embellishments for a finished look. Turn trash into a treasured art object uniquely your own! No artistic experience or talent is needed. Seasoned artists and novices will have a blast playing with a new way to express their creativity. Shemi Dixon has been creating since 1999 and found mixed-media in 2011, becoming totally addicted. Shemi believes in power of recycling and upcycling and just adores texture, paints of any kind and flea market supplies.
