Dynamic Public Speaking: Overcome Fear & Embrace Success (Online)

Of all the fears listed on a national survey, fear of public speaking was right at the top. At some time in your life you will be asked to deliver a presentation, whether to inform, teach, persuade, or entertain. Anyone can be an effective speaker. It is a matter of having the right tools. A powerful presentation includes good content, organization, delivery, knowing your audience, and analysis. In this intensive workshop you will explore how to fix the fear, find, and use your voice and body. You’ll also get checklists to help you prepare. Start with exercises to get you focused, talk about purpose, and give some impromptu presentations. In the second session, come prepared with a short presentation and get supportive feedback. Leave with tools to help you develop your presence! Janet DeRuvo developed, taught, and directed acting, dance, musical theater, and public speaking programs. She has performed both on stage and in film and is an accomplished voice-over talent.
