Acting: Winning the Audition
Stage and film auditions are competitive. Those actors who win are fully prepared and confident. In this workshop, you'll master and memorize two contrasting audition monologues which best showcase your talents. Each session focuses on cold-reading techniques for assigned scenes. How do you analyze the script to uncover your character and make strong, personalized choices? What techniques help you interact with other actors in a scene so as to "share the limelight? Join this 4-week workshop to grow your audition skills. All exercises are recorded on your personal DVD. Coach Bill Smith is SAG/AFTRA, and has operated five theatre companies, and taught acting for Cornell University's MFA theater program. The Acting Studio has trained Colorado actors for 35 years. The interactive class will be offered by Skype. A headset or earphones for your computer are preferable, but not essential. Make sure you have installed Skype on your computer. The instructor will send more specific instructions for participating in the class once you register.
