Sculpt & Paint: Add Dimension to Your Art
Can’t choose between 2D and 3D media? Then don’t! Enjoy the best of both worlds and explore a new way to create. For some people, 3-dimensional pieces are less intimidating and allow more freedom of expression. In this workshop we use polymer clay to build a relief form. Then we will experiment with surface applications of acrylic paint to take your form to a new level of artistic innovation! Work from your own imagination or get project ideas from the instructor if you want more direction. All artistic levels are welcome, and the class will be tailored to your specific needs and skill level. Kristi Backman is a fine artist and art instructor with 12+ years’ experience. She currently teaches at the Art Institute of Colorado and local community colleges. She is a mixed-media artist who works in both 2D and 3D media creating artifacts from imagined cultures.
